A few days ago I mentioned one of the organizations my family are involved in and you can read about it here. Today I wanted to share another great organizations we recently became apart of Compassion. If you haven’t heard about Compassion before it is a Child Sponsorship Program, Child Survival Program, Leadership Development Program, and so much more! My husband and I decided to a sponsor a little girl less than a year ago and so far we love it! We love the fact that because we choose to go through Compassion that she will be learning of Christ’s love for her. My favorite is writing little letters on behalf of my 3 year old and sending them to her. My daughter was so excited when she got a letter back. There are so many child sponsorship programs out there but I just wanted to say that the reason we choose Compassion is because of their Commitment to Christ, Children, and to Church. So when you’re looking into helping children out in some way please consider Compassion.

1 Brethren, my heart’s desire and prayer to God for Israel is that they may be saved. 2 For I bear them witness that they have a zeal for God, but not according to knowledge. 3 For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and seeking to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted to the righteousness of God. 4 For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes. 5 For Moses writes about the righteousness which is of the law, “The man who does those things shall live by them.”6 But the righteousness of faith speaks in this way, “Do not say in your heart, ‘Who will ascend into heaven?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ down from above) 7 or, ” ‘Who will descend into the abyss?’ ” (that is, to bring Christ up from the dead). 8 But what does it say? “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith which we preach):
- We should desire that others follow Jesus and find love and forgiveness.
- No one can ever truly be self righteous.
- We will never be declared innocent through good works.

“You have given a son to Christ, and if he has work for him on the earth, he will preserve him and make him a blessing to the church; but if he has other designs, he will, I doubt not , take him to himself.”
I want to remember these letters Griffin wrote for when the time comes I do lose someone close to me. I also want to remind myself to read Isaiah 57: 1-2 for encouragement during a time of grief either for myself or for someone I love. I have never truly experienced a great loved loss and I pray I never do. But if the time does come to pass I pray God brings me back to the words I just read. May it be in Your plan to take me and my loved ones before evil comes. ~Amen.
*Current Thoughts- I’m not sure why I said I’ve never experienced lost because in 2003 my Grandpa passed away and that was a difficult for me and my whole family.
“The righteous perishes, And no man takes it to heart; Merciful men are taken away, While no one considers That the righteous is taken away from evil. He shall enter into peace; They shall rest in their beds, Each one walking in his uprightness.” ~ Isaiah 57:1-2 (NKJV)

“Liberalism appeals to man’s will, while Christianity announces, first, a gracious act of God.”
Christianity had always been rooted in the saving acts of Christ’s death and resurrection, whereas liberal Protestantism reduced Christianity to a set of general religious principles regarding the moral teachings of Jesus. I believe there are too many churches becoming more liberal and less Christian. I praise God that my church is not one of them. Lord I pray that I never stray from the root of YOU! I pray that I will be more vocal of my relationship with You. Give me courage to share Your Word with others. Also, give me wisdom that when the time comes for me to share I will know what to say. Thank you for all that You have done and for all that You will do! Bless it be Your Name! Amen.
